1st laptop is getting internet connection via ethernet cable.
If the laptop with the ethernet cable has a wireless card, or built-in wireless, then you can. This also assumes that the other laptop has a wireless something-er-other (card or built-in). Just share the wireless connection of the ethernet laptop (name the wireless connection to something unique), then have the other wireless laptop connect to that unique wireless network. Done deal.
you would have to have another network card in that laptop to share it over, why not just buy a hub or a router?
