Answer:

Now days most of the building, houses, etc have a sistem that drives electricity into earth, so basicaly if your house is striked by a lighting you hear an incredible loud noise that will scare you even morebut thats all, nothing bad will happen.
Lightning will go for the tallest, closest thing to strike. Are there trees taller closer? Good. Are other buildings taller, good. For those with TV antennas, they are usually grounded. Lightning will follow the easiest path to ground. It can start fires. It can ruin electrical appliances. Inside is safer than outside. Stay away from the metal. While it is not storming, check to see of the metal roof has any cables to the ground.
I know that the number is how many stations should respond. Typically its just a 2 or 3 alarm fire. A 1 alarm would be a small fire where only 1 station needs to respond. If the fire is too large or the first staion needs help, they will call it in as a 2 alarm so another station comes to help and so on. I don't know the highest it would go The largest I've heard of is a 4 alarm, but who knows
Patra, most houses and buildings do NOT have lightning rods, except the very tall ones. It seems that the price is too high and insurance is cheaper, my guess. Although in the 30 years I have lived in this area, I have heard of only 1 house being hit by lightning. Lightning will start a fire on a large scale, and possibly kill people in the house, depending on where they are standing and the path of the lightning through the frame of the hours. Look into getting a lightning rod setup installed.
