Question:

How come you never see cranes being transported from one site to another?

How come you never see cranes being transported from one site to another?

Answer:

because they move so slow its hard to tell if there moving or not.
They are, the big pieces are moved at times of very low traffic. The huge cranes that build skyscrapers are made up of many small pieces, and the main tower is actually part of the building, not the crane.
Of course you see cranes transported from site to site, you just do not know what you are looking at.
Many are too large to be transported whole, and are assembled on-site (or even build for a single on-site use).
