how do i build a top bar beehive from pallets and where should i get these pallets for free of made of decent decent wood?
Where did the information regarding toxic wood come from ? Sounds unlikely, as pallets are not used in exotic ways; there are some companies that will paint their pallets, in the hopes that they will not be sold, but returned to them (CHEP is one example ). If possible, and you have the equipment, you could plane the surfaces of the suspect wood; otherwise, you are to be commended for trying to help those who do not have housing, and for the betterment of the forests PS - you may want to look at the EPA website; they may have some info on pallets and if they are treated or not
actually, most pallents are treated to keep things like mold and bugs from eating them, I gotta friend who makes em. My idea... grind em up into barkomulch or grind em up for compost, even though the chemicals may not be the best for using in a veggie garden, might keep those darn aphids off your roses though.
Donate them for the aggie bonfire so they would use for their foolish burn instead of cutting down truck loads off good trees.
