how do i know if my axle is going out?
You don't need to replace them with the same name tires. But you should replace both tires on the same axle at the same time.
if it's RWD then what you will hear is a loud growling or whining sound. if it's FWD then what you will hear is these 2 things. 1- clicking noise that occurs on a turn or 2- a clunking sound when going into reverse and then into forward gears. this may also occur when accelerating then decelerating
If it is cv axles making noise both rubber boots are problem cracked Lub coming out of them and when you turn hard to the right or to the leftward the boots being busted DIRT has got up in the cvaxels and made them to go bad , not a real bad job to do u will ned a book from the parts store
