Question:

how do i make my own motherboard i/o shield?

i bought an Intel DG43RK Micro ATX LGA775 motherboard from ebay and it didnt come with the backplatei tried searching for the shield but no luckcan i make my own with some aluminum foil? or will it cause a shortage or something.

Answer:

The shield is not essential but you could try making an I/O Shield out of aluminium sheet - aluminium foil would be too flimsy and there would be a risk if shorting if it fell into the motherboardYou would need accurate metalworking skills thoughYou could also try a piece of thin plywood backed with aluminium sheet
The main use of aluminum is aluminum foilHowever, aluminum is used to make tables, lightweigth poles and other pieces of furnitureTry searching it on wikipedia for more answers
