First, the light in the dash and the by-pass switch in the glove box are tied to the same system. It is not two separate systems. Second, I don't think you can completely disable it unless you pull the fuse then you will set off other warning lights because it ties into several of the car's computers. It's a safety system, like anti-lock brakes. Drag racers have known for decades that wheel spin is a waste of time and energy and you don't win if the wheels just spin and go nowhere. The TCS will get you off the line quicker and save the rest of the drive train from destruction. Of course, if you have lots of money to spend on parts then it doesn't matter. LT1 Gen II is a good engine
Go to a fabric store and check out the stock. My favorites are the off beat or cheap stores because they seem to get limited stock of varied types so it is easier to find that odd fabric. Most likely it is going to be a latex fabric - like used for gymnastics uniforms or bathing suits.
