How do people pair a front axle with a rear axle is the size or axle ratio different?
Think about your question a minute! If different axle ratio's were paird off on the same vehicle the front and rear wheels would turn at different speeds while you were in four wheel drive. You'd grub off the tires, tear the transfer case to pieces, wrap the drive shafts around the frame, break the ring and pinion gears and ruin the bearings in both rear ends. Four wheel drive trucks must have the same size tires front and rear for the same reason.
