Question:

How do they move the shuttle from one point to another?

If they use trucks I am sure they would need an entire free way to themselves.

Answer:

They have three ways to transport the shuttle: o With the crawler transport together with it's launch platform between VAB and Launch pado With a special heavy duty trailer, they use this for transporting the Shuttle between the various assembly buildings during the turn around for the next launcho With the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) for longer distancesThe SCA is a modified Boeing 747, which was also already used for the ALT tests of the Shuttle EnterpriseThe Shuttle gets installed on top of the plane by a special crane called Mate-Demate Device (MDD), which is available on Edwards and Cape Canaveral It would also be possible to transport it by ship, I think this solution would be used if the Shuttle has to be landed in Europe, as the SCA has only a very short range, it needs multiple refueling stops already for just crossing the USA.
