How do we replace the rear axle on a 1999 nissan frontier?

Answer:

There are at least three types of rear axles for the Frontier. Front loader (like a ford) C type with rear cover (chevy like) and several different ratios. Even a limited slip differential. Because the axle is on top of the springs after removing the frame bump stops it takes several strong technicians to lift the axle's brake backing plates over the springs. Not a good job for the do it yourself-er because floor jacks, safety stands, bolt torque, brake shoes and brake bleeding is involved. Good Luck
