okay i get the part where its one down, 5 up and ease off the clutch and give gas just like a manual car...but the last answerer said but dont hit the right brake by your foot unless you have too, youll skidso what do i use then, the front brake? i dont want to front flip?i appreciate the concern though btw but i have confidence and thnx ppl =]
Back brake first , gently as in a car. Apply front brake as needed in addition to back brake as it has most stopping power.
use both brakes gradually. who ever said to only use the front brake is a complete moron! you may very well flip over. the front brake gives you about 75% of your stopping power. but you must use them in conjuction with your rear brake. btw confidence is not enough when on a motorcycle. you also need a fair amount of caution and skill.
You get approx 75% of your braking power using your front brake. But if you pull too hard on the front brake, you can slide your front tire and crash. Same goes for braking on the rear only. So, go to a parking lot and practice emergency stops. Feel how hard you can brake with the front before it feels unstable. Feel how hard you have to step on the rear brake to make you stop. Next, feel how fast you can stop using a combination of the front and rear. Practice, practice. and practice some more.
Over the bar is one of the oldest fallacies in bikes, Sport bikes have only been able to make stoppies for about 10-15 years. Cruisers and standards still cant.Using the front brake first does 80% of normal braking. Rear brakes are used but don't stand on it too hard. It's one of the arts of riding
Both brakes gradually. Most of your stopping power is in the front brake. If you lock the rear brake is when you skid. If you're too heavy on the front, weight transfer causes loss of traction on the rear. I can't see what the last guy said. I only know the questions I've answered for you. Your Q&A are set to private and don't show. I won't go through the list searching for the others.
