Question:

How do you change the windshield wipers in a 1985 Lincoln Town Car?

I have a 1985 Lincoln Town Car and I can't figure out how to change the windshield wipers. I tried opening the hood and changing them that way but that didn't work. They don't pull straight up and turning them on then off when they are up doesn't work either. They just go back down. Can someone help me?

Answer:

It is possible that some kids are sensitive and that artificial colors can cause those problems. My daughter is allergic to yellow #5. It gives her asthma. I know someone allergic to red #40. It makes them have seizures.
I really think some kids are more suspectable to additives and sugars than others. Jenny McCarthy has been trying to publicize how changing her son's diet drastically altered his austism to near a normal level. Even as an adult, I know when I've been eating crappy. I become listless and and don't want to do much after two meals in a row of fast food. When I was in high school, my parents went on the ZONE diet, and thus, my brother and I did as well by proxy. I felt fantastic and my grades steadily improved. When I was in elementary, the teachers wanted me on ritalin, so my mom did it for two years and she (nor I) was happy with it. When she took me off of it, I was thrown full-tilt into competetive swimming. Mom always thought the next for years when I spent all my time in the pool was my new Ritalin. I got burnt out on it, but turned to color guard instead and had more fun and worked just as hard. So, to sum up: If kids had more holistic diets, less sugar and active lifestyles I think we'd see a dramatic change in our children.
You should do what I do, pull up in front of Pepboys, or AutoZone, and ask a silly question to make them think you're clueless i.e. Can you show me where the tools are to install windshield wipers or Can you show me where these go on my car? . They'll come out to show you, and usually end up doing it for you.
Thanks for the information about RainX. I got my cars' oil change about a month ago. They check for everything, including windsheild wipers. My car is a 2009,and I have to check the wipers more often because the heat of the summer down where I live , makes the wiper blades break faster.
dr layne is right. Turn off the key, when wipers are midway up the windshield, so you can pull the arm straight out away from the windsheild, grab the wiper and flip it over. This will allow you to remove the entire head, not the arm. Then follow the directions that came with the new wipers. I would suggest replace the entire wiper head, not just the rubber piece and get an expensive set of wipers ($10.00), not the cheapest ($3.00).
