I have a ‘99 Pontiac Grand Prix, if that helps any. My driver‘s side wiper blade tends to over-extend off the windshield slightly when it‘s on. Then blade then gets caught on the outside of the windshield and, stroke by stroke, gets pulled out of alignment so that eventually it can‘t get back on the windshield, hitting the side-view mirror instead. I‘ve tried pushing it back down into position and tightening the bolt of the wiper arm, but eventually it will start happening again. Is there another solution to my problem? Could this be a wiper arm motor issue or an issue with the bolt or something else? Even while the bolt is tight, I‘m still able to move the wiper blade freely. Should this be able to happen? Any help is greatly appreciated, I would love to be able to fix this myself without having to take it into a shop.

Broken Windshield Wiper Arm
it sounds like it keeps slipping on the shaft ! it,s not the wiper motor or you would not have any wipers ! there are splines on the wiper shaft and if they get worn away then the wiper will slip ! you can change those wiper shafts if you have the tools and know what to do ! the junk yard should have what you need ! just ask for a wiper shaft !
