The only fabric I would use in a rat cage is fleece, since it wont fray off into little stringsYou can use PVC piping from your Lowes to make tubes for themIf you want a fabric tube, then just sew a tube and use part of a plastic 2 liter soda bottle for the mouth of the tube to make it stand upJust sew the edge around it so they dont eat the plastic.
rub it with crumpled aluminum foil, and coca colait works for my bike then hit it with a coat of clear spray paint to help prevent future rust
