Answer:

Power Metal Pros: The lyrics and melodies want to make you pick up a sword and go on a quest and fight trolls!!!! Cons: Not aggressive enough (especially the vocals) Death Metal (fave genre) Pros: So damn AGGRESSIVE, usually takes alot of virtuosity and musicianship to play this genre(so you could appreciate it) Cons: --Usually for brutal/technical death metal--: Sound can become cloudy and overwelming at times and you don't know what the hell is going on (like hate eternal's new album),Lyrics are usually incomprehensable until you pick up the booklet! Black Metal Pros: Dark/Atmospheric tones and melodies open up a new door in your mind Cons: Why do they have to make it so low budget all the time?! ok so you wanna be TRUE to the genre well then i guess the genre should be called incomprehensable static over blasting drums and a crow screeching at some times!, and how many times can you use the word SATAN in one song?! Thrash Metal Pros: Speed!!!!Speed!!!!Speed!!!!, also influenced every other metal genre to come Cons: how can it be bashed?! Metalcore Pros: Some of the bands have pretty good At The Gates influenced riffs. Cons: For one, I'm not just going to say because its crap like alot of people do but ill say this: the whole base note- base note-high note-base note- base note- higher note is quite repetitive amongst bands! Doom Metal Pros: doesnt grind you're brain, and theres alot of bass Cons: some bands can go at like -3456 bpm (drone doom) like Sunn O))) Deathcore Pros: Perfect fusion of death metal and core(like All Shall Perish) and the breaksowns are f****in terrific! Cons: None yet, its a farely new genre Stoner Metal Pros: Great when you're stoned Cons: Only great when you're stoned Groove Metal Pros: some parts give just make you wanna DANCE!!!! Cons: Grooviness can only get you so far... NOTE: Death metal is quite diversified ie: theres a clear difference between melodic death metal and brutal death metal

power metal- sounds too fake sometimes with some bands(dragonforce for example) death metal- hm not much of any cons black metal- same as roxel . the satanic thing thrash metal- not many bands out there who claim to be thrash metal ARE thrash metal metalcore-pretty good but generic, i mean eventually the establish their won sound but almost every single metalcore band starts out sounding exactly like another one..and sometimes never changes doom metal- wtf? um what bands would be considered doom metal? deathcore- too stuck on the gothenburg sound (like at the gates). i like this genre but i think it'd be so much better if they broke away from the gothenburg sound stoner metal? groove metal? alternative metal- eh i dont listen to it enough to judge it nu metal- slipknot is the only nu metal band that should still eb around the others need to quit
Power Metal: Not many complaints. Death Metal: Seriously, this is the only metal sub genre I really focus on. Death metal has the best vocals. Black Metal: Meh. Thrash Metal: Second favorite sub genre of metal but less because of the vocals, more because of the awsome guitarists. Metalcore: Doesn't it kinda fall under nu metal? Nu Metal: I really don't consider nu metal really metal to begin with, but I don't hate it; I do enjoy Slipknot. Thats all the sub genres I can really give opinions about lol. I'm not that great at categorizing my music.
Power Metal - I have respect for bands in this genre, especially the male singers. Like Metalcore however, I find that most Power Metal bands blend together after a short period of time. Death Metal - LOVE IT! Black Metal - Love it, especially Symphonic Black Metal like Old Man's Child and Vesania. Thrash Metal - I have to be in the mood for most Thrash Metal, but Lamb Of God are great. Metalcore - Every band is the same. Boring. Doom Metal - Bands like Virgin Black and Draconian rule this sub-genre. I definitely like the Gothic Doom Metal bands more. Deathcore - Only TBDM and Job For A Cowboy, everything else is just the same. Stoner Metal - A little more variety needs to be present in this genre. Groove Metal - I don't listen to a lot of GM, but it is definitely interesting.
