Question:

How do you lift your car?

I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition. I want to lift it more then 2 inches. I know I can buy 2in spacers for like 80 bucks, I just checked my suspension and i only have like 4 to 5in of give. I don‘t want to spend like 500 bucks on those 4 inch Lift Kits. Any Other way I can lift it thats affordable? (not good with cars so please dumb your answers down for me, thanks)

Answer:

Don't go cheap you don't want to be out and have something break because it was a cheap part and im sorry to say it will probably cost ya
If your not good with cars changing the suspension is probably not a good idea. You can flip the rear axle so it is under the leaf spring and get taller shackles. Up front you need taller coils.
No cheap way of going about it. This grand cherokee has coil springs front and rear with control arms. This type of suspension system is more complicated and not cheaply lifted ( when compared to the older leaf spring rear suspension), however provides a more comfortable on road experience. Do it right or not at all. Go cheap and you lose drive-ability and performance, along with having an unsafe vehicle. When you lift any truck/suv. Its more then just getting a lifted suspension system. Now you have to worry about the other systems, like brake lines, steering component adjustments get out of whack, driveshafts etc etc list goes on. Your safe lifting a little bit, about 2''. After that and lifting becomes more expensive and complicated.
