how do you pull rear axles out of a 96 olds bravada.is there a trick?

Answer:

put the back axle on jack stands, remove the wheels, if its drum brakes remove those, if its disc brakes remove the caliper and rotors. next remove the 10 bolts that hold the differential cover on and then pull off the cover while making sure there is a drain pan underneath to catch the gear oil. next push in on the axle and you will see a C-Clip at the end of the axle shaft, use a small magnet to remove that and then the axle shaft will slide right out.
The previous post is correct, but after you take the pan off, you will need to remove the cross pin set screw and the cross pin, this will allow you to push in on the axles.
