Question:

How do you stop a scarf from shedding?

I have a white scarf that sheds all over my black coatI love the scarf though so I would just like to find out how to fix this problem? A sweater shaver won't work as the scarf is knitted in a style that is very looseYou can literally see through the scarf it's so looseIs there a spray or something else to fix this problem? Please don't say to just get a new scarf as that's not really helpful.

Answer:

From the seemingly bizarre advice for toilets, yet with porcelain that has a culinary purpose in mind - perhaps try Coca-Cola, a paper towel could be liberally dowsed and hung over the area if it's the edgeYou should be able to try this continually until successThing is, rust is comprised of very fine particles - I liken it to barnacles finding a way to anchor themselves even on Teflon.
Go to the market and get CLRFollow directions Rinse bowl real well before using Get a better whisk they should not be rusting Throw it out.
Use some baking soda and lemon juice.
If it's a protein fiber (fiber from an animal), such as wool, angora, cashmere, etc: fold it up and put it in a ziploc baggie in your freezer for 24 hoursIt will prevent the sweater from shedding(This is something you should do before every wear) If it's a cellulose fiber (fiber from a plant), such as cotton, linen, etc: toss it in the dryer for 10 minutes (unless it specifically says dry clean only)If it's a synthetic (man-made fiber), such as acrylic, polyester, nylon, etc: take it back to the store, synthetic fibers aren't supposed to shed, so it's a manufacturing defect with the yarn.
