Question:

How does air suspension affect the ride quality? will chose best answer?

Is it smoother?Handles better? How much does one usually cost?

Answer:

the more air the rougher the ride and it might help handling on certain roads but the system is pretty expensive, usually used for low rider vehicles and custom cars.
Like hydraulic suspension air sus gives a smoother ride and stops body roll by maintaining ride height. As an example, if you were to load up the boot of a conventially sprung car with lots of weight, it would adopt a rear down stance making the front very light and difficult to control. Air or hydraulic would redress the balance, as it is self leveling. A lot of commercial wagons now have air fitted as standard. You can have complete air suspension which is very expensive to retro fit as it would be custom, Or you could go for an air shocks system which would still be expensive but much cheaper than a full system. Alternatively get yourself a Citroen C5 or C6, with hydraulics a standard. It is computerised as well so you can have either relaxed comfort or it stiffens up and lowers automatically when you start to drive fast. The turbodiesels give terrific performance and great gas miles. I love mine
