Can someone explain me how car lift works in UAE? Is it legal? I am looking for a average cost transport for my daily work visit. I will be travelling from Al Zahra street to Emarat Atrium Building , near Burj Dubai lake park in syed z. road. How much they would be charging monthly? How far are this two ends? I seen some classifieds, as car lift from this place to that at 250 AED. I am not sure this figure 250 is monthly or weekly or daily :)Can you explain me and show me way?
Car pooling is legal in dubai yet charging money to give lift to someone is illegal. i have met people who were fined hefty sums by RTA for illegally transporting passengers. also as a passenger in such a situation you are not covered by insurance just in case (God forbid) something goes wrong. my advice would be to use get an international license from your home country. then rent a car till your residence visa is issued (you cannot drive on international license if you have dubai residence visa). also in the meantime start pursuing for a dubai license. if all this sounds complicated then use the bus.
Car lift is illegal in UAE. If caught red handed the driver can lose his vehical for life and his residence visa with permanent ban. Cost of transport is cheaper in dubai. Use Dubai Transport Bus service or just wait few more months you will get Dubai Meteo on the way.
In the absence of proper transport system and burgeoning populations, taxis are very less down here so more and more people rely on car lifts which going by the law is illegal but not for passengers, only for the one who offers. All said and done, there is not much problem.Dhs 250 is I guess monthly rate.
