how does metallurgy by Galileo relate to the scientific revolution?
I don't much about Galileo's contributions in metallurgy, but I did find this. He was probably one of the first to make a scientific measurement of the strength of metal. He found how long a copper bar could be before it broke under it's own weight, when suspended vertically. In 1593 he published Della Scienza Mechanica (on mechanical knowledge), which he writes after he has been consulted regarding shipbuilding problems. This book deals scientifically with the strength of materials.
