how far away you can park away from a fire hydrant?
Look and a couple other places. I suggested it to my neighbor and he loves it, and I even leave it in during summer heat as it keeps dust and other crap out of my eyes.
any water still in the line won't let the pipe get hot enough for the solder to stick. somewhere below the pipe you need to drain all the water that you can get out of there before trying to solder the pipe. i had a pipe once that had a bow in it, i actually had to cut the pipe at it lowest point in the bow in order to get the water out of there. cleaning ALL joints, inside and out and then using flux should get the job done. good luck to ya.
probably preparation of surfaces, some simple but important steps: 1. sandpaper or brush clean and shiny each piece to be soldered 2. carefully apply solder flux to these surfaces 3. assemble pieces in correct alignment 4. apply heat to base of coupling 5. after a couple seconds touch solder to opposite side of coupling 6. the solder will be drawn towards the heat 7.slide the solder around the fitting, you will see the solder fill the joint 8. it should only take a few seconds at each joint 9. with practice there will be a clean bead with no drips good luck, bruce
Brush some flux on the joints (fittings) first. Flux is an acid that etches the surface so the solder will stick.
