Pay raises are part of a negotiated contract. As to what incentive a union employee have to give it his best, its the fact that he has a decently paid job with paid vacations and benefits and a dedicated pension. Union jobs and job security are hard to find, and workers know that and only a fool would go and deliberately put his union job in jeopardy. Unions don't cover promotions, the company does that. The union will back up the guy with the bad attitude up to a point, that's why the documentation for his bad behavior, there were too many cases of people getting fired for no reason at all before unions, so there is a method of review where the company has to prove its case. There are though, if you are Teamster, seven deadly sins which will lead to immediate dismissal. The idea that because you are in a union you can't be fired for cause is wrong. I can't think of having to trust the company on giving raises, I know too many people who just get told that they are good workers and will get a raise when things get better, or when pigs fly, whichever comes first. What incentive does any employee have to give it his best when that's the best a non union company will offer?
You / The Black Viper website is a popular site which has manuals on different topics, but the major one is on creating hardware profiles which allows you to create an environment which has minimal services for game playing. It really rocks! As I mentioned before, if you see a service in your service console which is not mentioned at Black Viper, just Google it and research it before disabling it in a hardware profile. Good luck and much fun with your games, please have a nice day. *edit* Yeah, ctfmon is a critical system process. I didn't look at too many of the others because I saw that and went Ah ha!. That would cause the system to reboot if it were disabled. Anyway, look into creating a hardware profile where you disable all but the essential and critical processes and services. Good luck.
