Question:

How is the Statue of Liberty maintenanced and mended?

I assume the Statue of Liberty crumbles without maintenance because of deterioration .Is there a passage inside to the top of the torch and the crown?I have never visited. So I don‘t know about the inside of the statue.Do repairers climb up the torch and the crown? Or do they use the helicopter?Have you ever seen them or watched them on TV?

Answer:

the statue of liberty will not crumble because it is made of copper. there are passages inside the entire statue including the torch and crown. from what I know very little maintenance needs to be done on the exterior aside from cleaning and refinishing which is probably done sporadically. the interior of the statue is maintained like any normal building, since technically it is just a building that is also a statue
I would imagine they use a platform company like this one www.altitudeaccess .uk
