Question:

Is it smart to put black magic on motorcycle tires?

I just washed my motorcycle and to know would it be smart to shine my tires with black magic??

Answer:

This is a very very bad idea. This can cause your tires to lose traction. How is your nice shiny clean motorcycle going to look if you lay it down on the pavement the first time you lay it into a turn? You never put anything on the tires. Never! The only thing I do with my tires is to hit them with a scrub brush and some soap and water when I wash my bike. A little work and they will look acceptable.
Black Magic Tire Wet has a warning printed on the back of the can. It cautions the use of the product on two-wheel vehicles. If it's on the tread basically it could cause tire slippage on paved surfaces so they used bold letters on the rear label to note this issue. Side walls OK, ANYTHING with TREAD. NO!!! No way is it smart, It DUMB *** FOOLISH. I 'd rather ride a weather checked old tire with low air pressure than a new tire with Black Magic, or any other rubber/leather treatment.
