Question:

Motorcycle has issues after rear tire changed.?

2007 v-star 650 classic, shaft driven. I had the rear tire replaced and now if the bike is in gear and I start it with the clutch engaged the bike jumps forward. The shifting also seems to be acting up and if I hold the clutch in the bike is hard to move. This bike has 6,000 miles and I did not have issues before the rear tire was done.

Answer:

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the tire. Sounds like your clutch needs adjustment.
If it wasn't doing it prior to having the tire changed, I would definitely take it back and complain. They may have (intentionally or unintentionally) done something to cause the problem.
Minor routine maintenance such as clutch cable adjustment is something the rider should be able to do themselves. Likewise checking brakes, changing globes, plugs etc. Buy a manual a few basic tools. It's amazing how a little knowledge experience can get a dead motorcycle on the side of the road going again
