How many carbs should I be eating daily?

I'm on a diet where I can only eat 1200 cals a day, I'm 17 5'1'' and I weight an embarrassing 149-151lbsI went to get a physical and my doctor told me I have to go down to 115lbsMy last diet idea that I ended up not even starting was all about protein drinks and my brother told me that protein drinks will bulk me up and I'm already big boned so I scrapped that ideaHow many carbs should I be eating if I'm eating about 1200 calories a day?

Answer:

Join a gym, workout at least 4-5 days a weekCut back on your carbs, the carbs you do eat, make sure are early in the dayNo pop, cut back on sugar intake and dont eat after 8 Small meals 6-7 times a dayProtein is essential after workout in order to replace fat loss and build muscle tissueCut back on bread and pastaKeep activeSleep is important because you loose weight while you sleep.
I've lost 20 pounds since Thanksgiving doing the following: I found out the target calories per day and stayed about 500 calories under that targetIt allowed me to lose 1-3 pounds per weekThat may seem slow, but it's a healthier weight loss this wayI also made sure that I ate 3 meals per day, drank at least 48 oz of water per day and tried to get in 10K steps per day (about 5 miles of walking per day) If you do all of that, you should lose weight.
For one thing, if you have a heart murmur it's even more important for you, DON'T OVER-EXERT YOURSELF!! the second you start to feel like something's wrong, STOP! it's good to exercise but don't overwork yourself, and drink plenty of waterBut I would also try dieting on top of whatever exercise you can doStart simple, just try to eat a little less junk, and challenge yourself more and moreMaybe give up a soda when offered, start to check the backs of packs of snacks before you eat itDieting really can make up for what you can't do with exercise with a heart murmur, and although it does take commitment and can take some time to see results, the results are always greatI've been amazed at what low-cal snacks along with whole grain have done, you really get a return on it.
In order to reach a healthy weight, you might want to determine your appropriate weight firstHere's a chart that doctors use to determine ideal weight: For every 5'', add 100 poundsFor every inch after that, add 5 poundsExample: let's say your 5'4, then your ideal weight would be 120 based on this chart Secondly, it is possible to loose 1-2 pounds a weekThe best way is to portion your mealsFor example, let's say you have 2 scoops of potatoesNext time, try 1 scoopThis will cut your calories in half without depriving you of the good stuffSecondly, substitute sodas and fatty drinks with sport drinks, teas and water and if wanted, low fat or 1% milk Finally, try jogging, walking or running a mile a day if possibleBecause jogging/running/walking works all parts of your body, it's a great way to work out without paying the cost Hope this helps!
