how much do fire extinguishers cost?
[F]or your house - kitchen and one in the garage, but putting it in the master bedroom is very good too. The kitchen ones are different type of FE though as you are dealing with grease fires.
I agree about getting a deadbolt. But you should change all the locks at once and have one key that locks/unlocks them all. You can go to HD or Lowes and get locksets. It is very convenient to just have one key to work all the locks.
In the kitchen. Most household fires start in the Kitchen.
near the sink not close to things that could potentially catch on fire makes the extinguisher hard to get at.
Most fires occur in the kitchen; therefore, somewhere near the kitchen. However, be sure not to place it immediately next to the place where a fire may occur (eg. stove, etc.) or you won't be able to access it through the fire. We have one for our kitchen (stove, etc.), laundry room (HVAC units, dryer, etc.) and under our bed. Sounds like a lot, but the total cost for all three is less than $50. Small price for peace of mind with little ones in the house.
