How much would an EVAP system test be for a 99 Ford Taurus?

Answer:

nope, you wont have to. though its a weird question
As part of an emissions test or do you have a check engine or service engine soon light on, with a DTC for the evap system? I just paid an extra $15. to have the evap system tested as part of the biennial smog program in California. If you are having a problem causing the CEL or SES light to stay on, it will be more. Depending on the code, the most common problem is the fuel tank cap not on securely causing a fault when the on-board test runs on the evap system. Always turn the cap so that you hear at least three clicks when tightening it back on. Try it and drive around a few days and see if the light goes out on it's own.
