Question:

How much would it cost to Re-Pipe a house?

Just a rough estimate obviously. We‘re talking roughly 2,000 square feet and either copper or PVC pipes. Do the PVC pipes burst? If so, I am only interested in the copper piping. Thanks.

Answer:

Having this done now 5/20/15, they are using C-PVC pipe. 1200 sf home. Repiping thru attic. Cost is $5400, and that is with a 15% discount.
I'm interested to see the answer to this too

To be fair with a very little know how you can do the pvc yourself, its easy. No it doesn't burst, it is double lined and very flexible. I would advise getting more than 3 plumbers quotes, now before the winter, copper is expensive both because it is metal and also cos it doesn't bend easy, while the pvc should almost just pop through the holes.! You can still ask for copper pipes to come out of the skirting if you want, but it'll cost more. As for cost, that'll depend on the number of rooms or radiators, but for a new fit to a house, i wouldn't pay over 2k.
