I have replaced them 2x already, vehicle only has 22k mi. It seems like they keep getting trashed. Live in an area with lots of ice and snow.
When To Replace Windshield Wipers
Think of it this way, the wiper blades are a whole lot cheaper than replacing the windshield. Try some Rain-X windshield washer fluid, it seems to help with the life of the wiper blades and provides a better field of vision in the rain. Just a suggestion.
It's not so much a function of mileage, but a function of time. Most windshield wipers suggest changing every six months, however I've found that a good set will last a little over a year depending on conditions. If your car is garage kept, they should also last longer. Try to keep them moist, too. use your windshield wiper fluid every couple weeks, even if it's not dirty. This will keep your wipers from drying out and cracking, especially with all the salt on the roads!
