Question:

How to bypass auto theft security system on my 95 cadillac seville sts?

When I try to start my 95 cadillac seville sts it says auto theft security system, wait 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, start car, starting disabled. An does it all over again. How to get these off.

Answer:

Your car has a fairly standard PATS system, using the 'chip-in-the-key' ignition key. There is no way to get around it, or every car thief from here to Buffalo would know how & someone would have stolen your car 15 years ago. Got to take it to a factory garage. The factory on purpose puts the PATS brain box right next to the main computer, so if you try to snip a wire you chance killing the car.

Sorry Rick29148, you're wrong on this one. GM uses a system called VATS. (PATS is Ford) Vats is known for failing and there are a few different ways to bypass it. The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well. vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.y...
