Question:

How to cook a frozen ham?

I have a ham that I want to cook for dinner tonight, and it is frozen right nowHow long should it take to thaw, what is the safest way to thaw it, and how should i cook it? Thanks!!

Answer:

It really doesn't matterOne side is shiney and they other dull but its part of the manufacturing process! Wrap it whichever way you like.
I believe it's the dull side oneBut in general it shouldn't matter which side are you wrapping your food in
if you are wrapping food to put in the oven then you should have the shiny side in, so that it helps evenly brown the food while it is bakingOtherwise I don't think it matters.
The shiny side goes on the outside of the foil packs.
You can cook it from frozenAdd a can of chopped pineapples including the juices and basteAdd a little more water to it if it is drying outIs it a precooked ham? I would cook on 325 for at least 2 or 3 hours.the slower it cooks the betterIf it's a huge ham leave it in at least 3 hours, maybe even fourAgain depends on the sizeSee what the instructions say and add a half hour or so for the face you are cooking from frozenIt just makes it more tender if you cook it for longer, providing you're not drying it out or burning it cooking it too highNear the end of the cooking cycle you can add a bit of brown sugar if you like.too early it will just burnSome people put WHOLE CLOVES into the ham while it cooks tooIt will give it that cinnamony flavour if you want to add thoseJust shove them into the ham, make a little nick on the flesh to do so.
