Question:

how to diagnose this problem (sensation that tire wiggles on motorcycle when riding- nothing loose)?

My back motorcycle tire wiggles and feels loose what is going on? tire does not move when try to wiggle it?chain is tight and secure. i can‘t figure out what is going on since nothing appears to be loose. chain was loose previous to this but only for a 1 hour ride and then i tightened the chain. how do i dianose this problem w/o taking to mechanic?

Answer:

First, the most obvious.is the tire PROPERLY inflated?? Second, check your wheel bearingsfrom your despription, this is a prime example of bad wheel bearings. Third, if it is a spoked rim, check for loose spokes, if they are loose and the wheel wiggles, it will need to be trued. Fourth, check your swingarm bearings. Bad swingarm bearings can have the same feel of bad wheel bearings. Fifth, check your shock mounting bushings. Again, bad shock bushings can feel similiar to bad wheel bearings.
Improper tire pressure - check and adjust the tire PSI Uneven tread wear - replace the tire
they all will provide you with about the same hp increase
i would suggest you scrap your mustang and get a civic with a gsr swap.it would be faster and you would still be able to get 30 miles to the gallon
I suspect that Psyclechic is on the right track. Have you aligned the adjusters correctly – your chain should not be tight it must have (vertical) movement in it.
