Question:

How to dress for a blue collar (police/fire) industry interview?

I am a career changer from a white collar industry (higher education) where people interview in suits to a blue collar industry (emergency management which interacts with military, fire and police) where everyone is always dressed in polo shirts with pants or uniforms. On one hand, I heard its always better to dress up when in doubt but given that I am already an outsider being the only one in a suit might actually further highlight my outsider status. I was thinking of wearing a collared industry (USCG logo) polo with pants. Thoughts?

Answer:

ummm there could be a fire that you can't extinguish because the fire extinguisher is empty duh
They can be fired for any reason only since the Republican Congress and Bush put that little thing in the Patriot Act-which was just repealed by the Senate(50/50 Dem/Repub)94-2. Bush can't veto. Even though that was true, they lied and said it was for performance which is not true and they have since changed their story several times. Previously, Only 5 US Attorneys in 25 years have been fired mid-term! These were GW Bush appointees that GW fired. Completely different than when Clinton or Reagan fired all US Attorneys at the BEGINNING of their terms. Not midterm. The last time executive privelege was tested in the Supreme Court, Nixon had to hand over the tapes. And, all the way, Republicans insisted it was political. We all know what happened after that. Nixon resigned to avoid the impeachment trial.
