i have a bmx right but it has a mtb back wheel if i was to get a bmx tyre for it would it still be classed as a mtb wheel?? or does it have some thing to do with the rim and sprocket

you haven't any longer defined what style of rear wheel you have. If it has a coaster brake, the sprocket is possibly held in place by utilising a twine spring lock ring which you may get rid of with a screwdriver. the different style of rear sprocket will require particular kit
I hope you enjoy it when it snaps in half. Mtb wheels aren't made like bmx wheels. Bmx rims and hubs have stronger designs. It will ALWAYS be classified as a mtb wheel. The best rear wheel combination I can recommend is a G-Sport Ratchet cassette laced to a Odyssey 7K-A rim.
