check the wiper motor or the electrics or a fuse
first thing is check the fuse, then the wiper switch.

While I cant confirm from my own experience (just bought some, havent gotten them mounted yet), ive heard nothing but great reviews of the new dunlop direzza star specs. great all around performance tire. Not too expensive either. that being said, totally depends on what youre using the car for. If its a track car, theres a ton of different slicks available. If you want ultimate peformance for the street but are willing to sacrifice life, comfort, and noise, things like toyo R888s are pretty wicked. If you want a really good all around street tire, there are numerous choices, but I hear the star specs are the bad boys on the block now. There are also high mileage, all season, and runflat style tires available. just depends on what you want, really.
