My boyfriend built me a pallet garden and I do not want to get rid of it but I don't think I know how to care for it. We set it down for 2 weeks to let the soil harden and the plants to grow some and take root then put it up right. However, now with the dryer winter months the soil is falling out of the openings making this huge mess, uprooting plants, etc. Also, when I water the garden the water doesn't even soak into the soil, it just runs right off it taking loose soil with it through the openings and creating this big mess. Am I doing something wrong? How do you actually get one of these things to work?
