Question:

How to make a concrete chair?

My friend and I have been informed by our lecturer that we need to make something out of concrete and we decided to make a chair. However we are unsure of how to attach the legs to the seat of the chair and the seat to the back. We were also informed of a special paint/substance that can be applied to a mold so that when the concrete has set it can easily be removed from the mold but our lecturer did not know the correct name for it so we are unsure of where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:

get hold of an old chair mix up some sand and cement a bit on the wet side paint it on to chair and don't tell the tutor
You'd have to build a form for the concrete and pour the chair in a couple of different steps. My question for you is how are you going to get a 500 pound chair into class? Unless it's just a small scale chair-there's an idea for you.
