How to program Time Warner Cable remote to change sound system volume.?

I bought a sound system for my TV and wish for the volume control on the cable remote to control the volume on the sound system instead of the TV volume. How do i do this.

If such a thing is possible, the instructions will be in the manual that was packed with the remote. If you no longer have the manual, it should be available at the Time Warner website.

I wouldn't spend much time on itas the remote control is honestly meant to control the cable box and its functions and to turn on / off the tv ( and sometimes the dvd players ). If it does do this , then consider it a bonus. I wouldn't bother wasting a techs time to come out to your house for this as there is nothing wrong with your cable service and want you are trying to do has nothing to do with their equipment. If you truly want to control both devices with one remote , then look into getting a remote from Logitech ( or similar ) as they are meant to control multiple devices.
