Question:

How to put Ground Rods on an electric gate?

My electric gate keeps getting hit by lightning I am wanting to put ground rods on it to see if that would help or if anyone has a better suggestions please let me know. If I am home I turn the breaker off when a storm comes in..Thanks for your help

Answer:

No, the UNIX system will quite deliberately prevent you from passing in a password using any kind of tricky mechanism that could be used to thwart security. What you need to do is set up your application to be used in sudo. Login as root and configure the sudo system so that your program has access to whatever it needs to have access to, and what users are allowed to have access to your program. Then the user executes sudo {yourProgram} and it will prompt the user for his/her password. That will allow ordinary users (who only need to know their own password) to access privileged resources using your application.
You have my curiosity picqued! What are you and Jodi doing with the spatula that would cause you to shower with your clothes on? ;)
