Question:

How to remove dog urine stains from white sofa?

So my mother has been looking to get a new sofa set. Her friend recommended talking to another friend who was giving away a sofa set supposedly practically brand new. When my mother received the set, the sofas were filthy and full of urine. I have tried everything. De-greaser, Clorox, ajax, vinegar, goo gone...nothing seems to be working. Can anyone please help me out?

Answer:

Everyone has great suggestions. What has worked for me is products from Natures Miracle. They are natural products that actually break down the enzymes and eliminate them. They carry different formulas for different problems from urine stains to skunk odor remover. I get mine from Dr.'s Fosters and Smith, but I think Amazon may carry them also. They are white bottles with red labels.
The couches need to be professinaly cleaned in my opinion. I would call around and price check. Tell them about the stains and urine on the couch.
I would use a pet odouriser shampoo first If its a leather sofa ? But if its a fabric one if you have carpet cleaner with attachments use this on it Or remove the covers if they come off and wash them While you air the cushion outside
Good answer below.........except all the chemicals you used may have set the stain to where it will not come out now. For many years there was a wonderful product on the market, you'd mix it up and just use to foamy suds, too wet and it stained the fabric. Rubbed it on and immediately dabbed it off with a white towel. Have had pretty good success with kitchen liquid doing the same. I'm not real confident now about your chances with the stains. No doubt you'll need to replace the foam inside as the pee has soaked beyond the fabric.
If you are talking about stained upholstery, try Oxy cleaner or I had great success with a product called LA Totally Awesome. If you are talking about the smell of urine in the sofa, take off the covers on the cushions and take the foam rubber outside and let it air-out for a few days in a dry place. You can also take the cushion covers to the dry cleaners and they can get virtually any stain out. I do not recommend washing the covers as shrinkage is likely.
