Question:

how to rotate your tires?

i just got my car aligment fix and they told me to to a rotate tires every 7000 miles.do they mean to switch your rear tire for front?and why? i dont get the meaning of this?and if i dont will anything happend to my car?

Answer:

It could be a few things like a dirty MAF Sensor or a clogged air filter too. If you could provide the actual code number and car make and engine it would help narrow things down a bit.
Odds are it's an o2 sensor causing the problem especially if you're car is drinking gas, try getting the actual code # and report back.
If you have directional tyres then you just swap front to back but make sure you keep them on the same side of the car. If they are not directional and all tyres/wheels are the same type then put the worst tyre onto the spare then swap others front to back onto the opposite side.
the reason is that you get even wear on all your tires your tires wear in different places and amounts i think the pattern is right rear to left front left rear to right front and both front to rear on same side nothing will happen except wear on the tires i personally dont i let the front wear put the rears on to replace them and replace the rears id rather buy two tires than four
Don't wait until 7,000 miles but rather do it at 5,000 miles. You will want the front tires to go to the back and the back tires to go to the front. Take the right front tire and put it on the ground next to the left rear axle. Take your left back tire and place it on the ground where you're right front tire was. Take your left front tire and put it on the ground to place onto the right back. Take your right back tire and put it on the ground for the left front tire.
