Answer:

Separate your laundry by bright colors, dark colors, and whites. Make sure that you check the tags on the clothes and make sure that they are supposed to be run through the washer, not dry cleaned. Each piece of clothing will actually give you washing instructions. As far as detergent, the more clothes you have to put in, the more detergent you'll need. All detergents have a measuring cup. If you think you'll be filling up the washer, then fill the detergent to the highest measurement. Put the detergent in first, then the clothes. Don't let them sit that way long before starting the washer (Otherwise, your clothes can stain from the detergent). Don't load it too full. As in, do not try stuffing your clothes in. They should be lightly loaded. There are different settings on the washer. Normal wash should cover most types of clothing, but if you're ever unsure, just use the gentle cycle. Based off of what the tags say, switch the knob to hot or cold water. Drying: most clothes can be put on the normal drying setting, too, but if you are not sure, again, put the temperature on a lower setting. Hope that helps and covered everything you needed.
I bet one of the detectors has a fault. I also bet that they are wired together and are communicating among themselves so when one goes off, they all do. Find the bad one by removing all but one at a time from their mounts. Then put the good ones all back and replace the defective one. Heavy dust will set them off and you may have a detector that is dirt y inside.
