Question:

How to use floor leveling compound?

My garage floor has settled and now an area of about 4' x 4' is about 1" lower than the rest of the floor. Can I use floor leveling compound on this? If so , what is the maximum depth for the compound? I will need it to be about 1" thick. Can I do this in one application or should I do it in 2 applications of 1/2" each? The part of the floor that settled will not have car traffic, just foot traffic, Thanks for your help

Answer:

You can do it in one aplication, it would be better. With a chissel make small dents on the existing floor in case it's cement or concreet and that would make the leveling compound better.
