How wide of a tire can I mount without problems on the standard 16X6.5 aluminum OEM 5 spoke wheel on my 99 Pontiac Gran Prix GT? The standard size is 225/60. Would like to go a bit wider but dont want rubbing problems on the daily driver!! Thanks
LOL! An alarm?? My car won't even lock -- and I frequently leave the keys in it. It's one of those cars that no one will bother -- even if you beg them to. Couldn't even pay someone to steal my car.
Live in Atlanta, have to have one. But, I don't know that I would care too much if it did get stolen I've been wanting a new car and since I have only had mine for a yr. this would be a good excuse.
you can actually go as wide as you want, but if you go wider thatn 8 you have to install a spacer but your wheels are going to stick out a lil bit, but to be safe just go with 16X7 or with a grand prix, you can put a 18x7, i work for an import shop before and we installed a 18 rim on a grand prix, and put 205/40-17, but with this you will feel all the stuff on the road becuase the tires are thin, but you feel the grip on the road.
Any tire store will have a match up book which lists those tire sizes that will fit a certain car.
