Question:

i am writing the question down?

list the steps a student should take before starting a science activity where safety is an issue

Answer:

Like others said it depends on the state. What ever the driver is required to wear the passenger is required to also. The guy above me can add Hawaii to that list because here we are not required to wear a helmet and neither is any passenger.
Hi There, It is correct that the flame in the heater should be light blue. A yellow flame indicates poor combustion ( not enough air for the flame ) and possible CO creation. The vents will give off an odor if unused for a long time due to dust, link, dirt, possible mold but the odor should clear up after a day or so. To be safe I would recommend purchasing carbon monoxide detectors for each bedroom and one near the furnace area. They are inexpensive and work well. If the smell continues you might consider having a mold inspection in you home. Another thing to do would be to have a furnace repair tech check your furnace heat exchanger fo any leaks. Heat exchangers develop rust and can rust through causing the exhaust gasses to mix with the air flowing through the duct work. This will cause an odor also. After doing all the above you should be able to rest easy knowing your heating system is in good shape. Hope this helps, Al
Use compression fittings I have a master plumber who does work for me when I remodel my house and he swears by them. I know how to sweat copper pipe but I have switched to the compression and always keep a couple in the house for any emergency repairs. Look for a plumbing supply place in the phone book or on-line instead of a Home Depot type store to buy them every town has a couple of these stores where the plumbers buy their stuff. They will help you buy what you need and show you how to use them.
