Question:

chocolate chips in monkey bread, a good combo?

i don't like nuts or dried fruits, but i do like chocolatewill it go well in monkey (pull-apart) bread?here's the recipe:1 cup granulated sugar1 1/2 tsp cinnamon2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury? Grands!? Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits1 cup firmly packed brown sugar? butter, melted

Answer:

I'm against itThe chips would only really be good if they were all through out and not just at the seamsAnd if you try to fold them into the biscuits you might end up over kneading them and making them toughHere's a recipe that uses cocoa instead of chips and I think it would be more successful in giving you the chocolate touch you crave Chocolate Monkey Bread ■1 3/4 cups granulated sugar ■2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder ■1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ■1 cup butter, melted ■2 12-ounce cans refrigerated biscuits, cut into fourths Preheat oven to 350°Lightly grease/spray a 10-cup Bundt panCombine sugar, cocoa, and cinnamonSet asideDip quartered biscuits into melted butterDredge in sugar mixtureLayer biscuits in panBake for about 1 hourCover with aluminum foil, if necessary, to avoid excess browningCool in pan 10 minutesInvert onto plate and serve.
