I just bought this house during the summer, winter is coming so I started my furnace today and found out soon it started the quot;loud howlingquot; noise is there and stopped when it reached its pressure or completed it cycled, and it will repeat like that all day long, but it works fine. Laars authorized service tech came out and he isn't sure what caused it, he thinks there is some restriction in heat exchanger coil, and recommend to flush the exchanger with chemical to remove quot;gunksquot; out of copper pipe. However there is no GUARRANTTEE! Have anyone experienced this type of noise before?
I will tell you now you need a new HVAC guy. There is no copper in a heat exchanger lol. Actually sounds like you are experiencing water hammer. You need a plumber not an HVAC guy.
is the sound coming from the refrigerant lines or out of the blower. if it is the lines depending whether it is a txv or orfice. it could be trash in the line or wrong size orfice. if it is in the blower you may need to clean the blower wheel and any duct work.
Eddie Have you found the fix to your boiler issue. I#x27;m having the same problem and just wasting time and money having these guys trouble shoot. Thanks
With the age of it, I would have had the heat exchanger inspected. You may find that the heat exchanger is bad and then your wasting your money. With the age of it its at the point of being a money hungry machine, and you will probably have other problems. Sound to be like it either large howling is the blower motor. The armatures are probably bad in the motor. The tech should have checked AMP draw on the motor to see if its with in spec, Id say if they cant figure it out, youll know soon enough when the motor goes out.
