Question:

i have a 2000 mercury grand marquis?

i want to put some 24 rims on it. (this is what i want) what i notice a lot of guys cut there fender for these . i dont want to cut anything. my question is , what suspension will i need and also what size tires should i get?

Answer:

i would plan on replaceing the shafts but if moneys tight you could fill it up will grease every week. and duct tape it to help hold the grease in. yes i know this is redneck stuff but the cost of axles and labor will hurt.
if the boots are torn, you might as well just change them, you will have to sooner or later anyways. i mean you can still drive it until they start to click, but with the boot torn, it wont be long until you will have to change them, so you might as well do it now, if you have the money.
Don't do it. You're ruining a good suspension system when you jack up one of these things. Your center of gravity will be high enough that you will be in danger of rolling the car. I have 20 Crown Vics and Grand Marquis Sedans, and we won't let that happen to any of them. You'll be asking for serious transmission trouble within a few thousand miles, too.
